Dr. Jack Regan
Chief Executive Officer and FounderDr. Regan is the inventor of the MantaBio automated pathogen detection system, MiQLab®. Before founding MantaBio, he led a team of scientists at Bio-Rad Laboratories in developing tests for detecting pathogens, cancer, and neurological disorders using droplet digital PCR. Prior to Bio-Rad, Jack helped QuantaLife bring droplet digital PCR from concept to commercialization, leading to an acquisition by Bio-Rad for $162 million. He has also worked at Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies on automated sample preparation and did his post-doctoral training at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he developed automated instruments to detect respiratory pathogens and biothreat agents for the US government’s BioWatch program. His doctoral training at the University of California San Francisco focused on influenza viral replication.
Carter Boisfontaine
Chief Operating OfficerCarter Boisfontaine is an accomplished investment professional with extensive experience in venture capital, corporate finance, and strategic transactions. He has overseen over $500 million in transactions, including startup investments, fundraising initiatives, and complex growth-stage deals. Carter previously served as a lead for a $1 billion growth fund at Pegasus Tech Ventures, a global venture capital firm managing $2 billion in assets under management and collaborating with over 40 corporate partners. At Pegasus, he led large investments in high-profile companies like SpaceX and SoFi, as well as seed and early-stage investments in innovative AI computer chip companies, driving technological advancements across emerging industries. As Senior Manager of Corporate Development at Bird Global, Carter was instrumental in the company’s financial and operational growth. He successfully closed $200 million in private financing, secured a $150 million Apollo debt facility, and played a critical role in executing the company’s SPAC merger and multiple acquisitions. Carter’s expertise lies in operational leadership, driving transformative transactions, fostering strategic partnerships, and building scalable business solutions that create lasting value. His strategic approach and operational acumen make him uniquely equipped to drive growth and innovation.
Curt Boisfontaine
Board MemberCurt Boisfontaine founded Meridian in 1994 and has been involved in the investment business since 1982. He is currently the sole Director of Meridian’s entities and is President of Meridian Capital Corporation. In 2016, following a 25-year history of investing in human healthcare related real estate projects, he became intrigued with animal healthcare and Meridian pivoted its investment focus to the veterinary industry. Since that time, Meridian has assembled a portfolio of veterinary specialty hospitals which provide advanced animal healthcare capabilities worth approximately $200M. Curt serves on the board of directors of Operation Kindness, a Dallas based not-for-profit animal welfare organization and operates a lifesaving animal shelter and offers programs to assist people and pets. Curt was raised in New Orleans, LA and completed his formal education in 1981 at Tulane University, where he studied economics.
David Ronck
Board MemberDavid Ronck is the President of Meridian and oversees all aspects of the day-to-day business. He brings more than 25 years of operational, financial and capital markets experience to MantaBio. Since joining Meridian in 1995, David has held numerous positions during his tenure and has been responsible for project capitalization and financing for Meridian’s veterinary hospitals and other Meridian projects. He and Curt Boisfontaine are the two principal partners of the company and Meridian’s various investment partnerships and operational entities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University, currently serves as the governor of the university's foundation and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

Tom Forte
Board AdvisorTom Forte has over 30 years of diverse business experience, roles, and leadership assignments in human and animal healthcare. He has successfully transformed teams, cultures, operating models, and value propositions to improve competitive differentiation and better serve customers – resulting in a consistent delivery of financial, new-logo, and market-share growth objectives. Most recently he served as President of Covetrus North America, a >$2.7B business, with a mission of ensuring their portfolio of technology, service, and product solutions help veterinarians drive better outcomes. His prior roles include Chief Commercial Officer at Covetrus North America and extensive sales, marketing, and other commercial leadership positions at Pfizer Inc, Pfizer Animal Health (Zoetis), and Johnson & Johnson. He served on the boards of Veterinary Study Groups, Animalytix, and United Veterinary Services Association. Tom graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Odis Pirtle
Board AdvisorWith over 20 years of animal health industry experience, Odis has helped to build multiple successful businesses. As an officer of Zoetis (f/k/a Pfizer Animal Health) he’s led both go-to-market strategies as well as the building of the largest commercial sales team in the profession. He then successfully transitioned to the veterinary hospital operations role leading a startup as the Chief Executive Officer of Thrive Affordable Vet Care for three years and a subsequent transition to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Thrive Pet Healthcare. During his tenure with Thrive, he was instrumental in developing the company's strategy for building the most connected and innovative network of primary, acute, and specialty veterinary hospitals. Pirtle is a 1993 graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
